Recovery Coordinator (Part-time)
Allegheny HealthChoices, Inc. (AHCI), located in downtown Pittsburgh, seeks a Recovery Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours/week). This individual will have used behavioral health (mental health and/or substance use disorder) services in Pennsylvania and be comfortable providing a personal perspective on treatment and recovery. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Act as a change agent to impact the recovery culture in the behavioral health service system.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and educational activities with the purpose of providing a service user and recovery-oriented perspective.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings and trainings.
  • Problem solve with people who use behavioral health services on Medicaid benefit issues.

Position requires an understanding of behavioral health service models from the users’ perspective. Post-secondary education, with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, in a related discipline is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook is required. This individual will be required to independently travel to frequent meetings throughout the area.

Training Coordinator
Allegheny HealthChoices, Inc. (AHCI) is a non-profit with a mission to assure equitable access to quality, cost-effective behavioral health care that promotes positive clinical outcomes, recovery, and resiliency.

We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator to support the delivery of evidence-based practices, and behavioral health training and interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in promoting behavioral health recovery concepts, a teamwork-oriented approach, the ability to work with diverse groups, and a great sense of humor.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all training requests are received, organized, and responded to in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate arrangements for trainings, including securing the site, finalizing training dates, and communicating with trainers and attendees.
  • Manage inventory of supplies for all trainings, as well as databases for data collection, tracking, and analysis.
  • Maintain training registration website with all up-to-date and relevant information.
  • Conduct basic evaluation and data analysis.
  • Travel, as needed, throughout Allegheny County, PA to promote and market Mental Health First Aid, and to provide related trainings to the public. Reliable transportation is required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, public health or related field, or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Experience in community behavioral health preferred.
  • Certification to provide Mental Health First Aid training is expected.
  • Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Mental Health Facilitation and Service Planning Specialist

Allegheny HealthChoices, Inc. (AHCI) is an innovative non-profit agency dedicated to supporting the provision of high-quality mental health and substance abuse treatment. We are seeking an individual to fill the part time position of Mental Health Facilitation and Service Planning Specialist. This position is responsible for facilitating the service planning process for people in state and community mental health hospitals, and residential facilities.  This includes convening and facilitating multidisciplinary meetings, working with community-based service providers, and incorporating recovery principles into day-to-day activities.

 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or related discipline, or equivalent experience. The successful candidates will also have:

  • Experience in advanced facilitation techniques and knowledge of mental health recovery concepts, terms and key processes
  • Basic understanding of MS Office Suite, including working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to track basic data elements and report on them
  • Experience in a professional work environment with proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, collaborate with others including diverse multicultural audiences, demonstrate time-management and organizational skills, and meet deadlines and focus on results
  • Experience working independently in the community
  • Access to consistent, reliable transportation for meetings in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.
