Treatment for Children

• The Allegheny County Department of Human Services’ Office of Behavioral Health meets the human service needs of Allegheny County residents - most particularly our vulnerable populations - through an extensive range of prevention, early intervention, crisis management, and after-care services.
• Community Care Behavioral Health Organization (Community Care) is the behavioral health managed care organization (BH-MCO) for persons in Allegheny County whose health coverage is provided by Medical Assistance (Medicaid).
• Beaver County Behavioral Health holds the responsibility of encouraging a seamless system of care for people in Beaver County with behavioral health needs that is accessible, continuously available, and emphasizes health promotion, prevention, early intervention, resiliency, recovery and rehabilitation.
• Value Behavioral Health (Value) is the behavioral health managed care organization (BH-MCO) for persons in Beaver County whose health coverage is provided by Medical Assistance (Medicaid).

• The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is part of Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare. OMHSAS’ goals are to implement services and policies to support recovery and resiliency in the adult behavioral health system; assure that behavioral health services and supports recognize and accommodate the unique needs of older adults; and transform the children’s behavioral health system to a system that is family driven and youth guided.
• The Pennsylvania Community Providers Association promotes a community-based, responsive and viable system of agencies providing quality services for individuals receiving mental health, intellectual disabilities, addictive disease and other related human services. To achieve that purpose, PCPA serves as a forum for the exchange of information and experience, represents providers on legislative and administrative matters, and serves as a point of contact with other related statewide organizations.
• The State of Pennsylvania Early Childhood Mental Health site serves as a resource for information about early childhood mental health services that are available throughout the state.
• The Mental Health Association of PA Children’s News site provides information on children’s mental health issues in Pennsylvania.

• The Systems of Care site provides information about the mental health of children, youth and families. In a system of care, families and youth work in partnership with public and private organizations to design mental health services and supports that are effective, that build on the strengths of individuals, and that address each person's cultural and linguistic needs.

• The National Center for Trauma-Informed Care (NCTIC) is a technical assistance center dedicated to building awareness of trauma-informed care and promoting the implementation of trauma-informed practices in programs and services.
• The Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development works in partnership with families and many other leaders across the country to transform services for children and adolescents who have, or are at risk for, mental health problems and their families.
• The mission of the National Center on Youth Transition is to improve practices, systems, and outcomes for transition-age youth and young adults (14-25 years of age) with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties.
